behind the lens: #1 - me, unadorned

Behind the Lens button

i'm joining in with jenny over at the southern institute for domestic arts and crafts for the 'behind the lens' series. she talks about it so much better than i ever could, go here for a great description of what 'behind the lens' is all about.

my house is crazy right now. i have always considered myself a very organized, orderly person. but, if someone were to come into my house, they would certainly not have that impression of me. my house is completely unorganized at the moment. and not in order at all. i've realized recently that part of this is because i like order and structure. i have certain ways of doing things, and if they can't be done in the right order, then i just don't do them. so, because of this, things have built up and built up around the house. i am so tired of it! i decided this week that things are going to change. i had two years worth of clothes for all three of my children that were sitting in bins, unsorted and unorganized. this was my first project. it took about 8 hours all together to get everything organized into the correct bins. 8 hours!!

change of subject, i have been not wanting to do this 'behind the lens' thing because i never have a picture that i like of myself. i don't look perfect. the setting is not perfect, blah, blah, blah..... so, today, i decided to just dive right in.

this is me right now in my quest to reconquer my house. one battle down, and it feels like, hundreds more to go.  no makeup, cleaning clothes, crazy hair. i'm jumping in with both feet.

with my bins of kids' clothes. finished! woohoo! this was also before i swept. lol.

and caelyn wanted to be in a picture with me. :)
