home ec: project 1a - single sided napkins

i am loving my home ec class! the first project is single and double sided napkins. i've finished the single sided napkins. i found yellow and green material that pretty much perfectly matched my plates!

look! i can sew in a straight line!!

i love them!! the yellow material is a faux linen. it was really easy to work with. they had the same material in green, but i wasn't going to buy it because i didn't want to spend that much money at one time. i was just going to do the yellow and then do the green at a different time. but, then, i was looking through the remnant bin at joann's and found this green material that wasn't linen, but looked very, very similar to the yellow. and i don't know if it always is, but when i was there everything in the remnant bin was 50% off. score! the green material was a lot harder to work with. the faux linen was pretty stiff and stayed in place, but the green moved around a lot. i had to get used it. overall, i was really happy with the way they turned out!
