creative me monday 4:magnets

this week i have a little project that took me, i think, 10 minutes total. it's was fun and it took things that were cute but that i wouldn't use and made them cute and usable.

our lovely jenny had a giveaway about a month ago for a gift certificate to zoe clothing company. i was so super excited when i won. i picked out the shirts (and a dress) that i wanted and got the box last week. i love everything i got. the shirts are so so soft and pretty! the day we got the box, i opened it and showed my husband, kids and my sister (who was visiting) everything. my husband immediately grabbed the shirt that i had gotten for him, my son grabbed the one for him and my sister snagged one of the ones i had gotten for myself. they all changed and were really happy. i even let my sister keep the one she picked out. i'm such a great big sister, i know. ;)

anyway, in the box, they had included these little pins. i've noticed that a lot of smaller independent stores are using these now. has anybody else noticed this? i thought they were super cute, but i didn't know what i would do with them. i wouldn't wear them, but i didn't want to throw them away. i thought about maybe putting one on my purse, but none of them really matched. as i was looking at them, i realized that the pin backings weren't in there permanently so i pulled them out. i ran and got a couple of circle magnets from my craft bin and my hot glue gun. and, viola!, some new super cute magnets!!

see the magnet on the top left? the owl? my daughter wanted that tshirt. when i got the box, lily had included the same shirt in my size, for free! as a surprise, so that we could match. how awesome is that?!

i would highly recommend buying from zoe clothing company. the shirts are great and lily was so fun to work with. i love that they use scripture without being cheesy which is the issue that i have a lot of times with christian tshirts. i also love that they have a line of shirts that supports zoe international ministries in fighting human trafficking. 100% of the profits from this line goes to zoe international. from the website, "each ZOE t-shirt will provide 33 meals, medical care for 2 months, or necessary clothing and personal hygiene items for a child in need." i got this shirt. isn't it gorgeous?! check out zoe here or on facebook here.

ps. this is not a paid advertisement. i just love the clothes and the company.

  3. What a great idea! I have so many loose buttons just sitting in my drawer collecting dust ;) Perfect idea to give them new meaning!
