it's a date!

yay for date nights!! tomorrow night my hubby and i are going out. i'm really excited. both because i get to go out with my best friend and because of where we are going.

our friend john mark is coming into town with his band. he's on tour. tomorrow night he stops here. if you follow christian music you may not know john mark's name, but you probably know at least one of his songs, 'how he loves'. it's been covered by kim walker, david crowder band and flyleaf.



the story behind this song is... i don't know how to describe it.  here's jm talking about it himself.



i just watched this video and it makes me tear up all over again. steve was a good friend of mine. 

john mark is raw and he is real.

i love 'how he loves', but it's not my favorite. his other stuff is so so good, too. like really, really good. i would encourage you to check it out. this cd, 'the song inside the sounds of breaking down' (i love that album title!!), has the original 'how he loves' version.  his newer cd is 'the medicine'.  oh, and you can check out his blog here.  good, good stuff people! if you like what you hear/read, go see him in person! check out http://thejohnmark.com/ for tour dates.

he has another album due out in the fall. seriously, in case you can't tell, the guy is one of my favorites!! and, for those of you who have kids, mine LOVE his stuff, too. they walk around singing his songs all the time.

so, anyway, i get to go see jm, and i get to go with my hubby. by ourselves!!!! i'm so excited. i seriously love my husband. we don't get to go out by ourselves very often. actually, the last time we were out by ourselves was when he took my to the er because i was having chest pains. not the best date, right? ha. i'm so looking forward to tomorrow night.
